Weddings are funny these days- some people get so caught up in making everything so perfect and over-the-top and “Pinterest-worthy” that they forget the real reason they’re having the wedding in the first place : to marry their best friend and join their lives together (and celebrate with all of their favorite humans). Aly & Ben’s day was what a wedding day should be and so much more. Yes, my goodness, the details of this wedding were amaaaazing (like SO good!) and the dresses were beautiful and the flowers were gorgeous. But Aly & Ben were there for all the right reasons. And I could feel it from the second I walked into The Neu Neu. The genuine exchanges and the emotion and the laughter and the anxious, but excited energy. I could just feel it. You know what I’m talking about- when you step into a space and feel love all around you. It’s such a real thing, you guys. And on this day- it was so present. Which is one of the most beautiful things in this world. It’s one of the reasons I love my job so much. I’m getting all emotional just writing this and thinking about the immense joy I feel delivering these images to my clients.
*random side-note that I can’t ignore: as I sit here in a coffee shop writing the story of Aly & Ben- a random song comes on my Spotify (that is playing at random, mind you). “I get to love you” by Ruelle. And goosebumps immediately take over my body. That’s the song that Aly walked down the aisle to. YOU GUYS this day. It was a magical one and is still bringing magic into this world.
