North Shore Minnesota Elopement | Sydney & Garrett

Oohhhh elopements, how I love you. I adore the quiet, peaceful nature of the day. The intimate setting. The FREEDOM to celebrate your day exactly how you want to (which is truly how it should be, can I get an amen?). I ventured up to Grand Marais this past September to meet Sydney & Garrett (who were coming from Wisconsin) and to capture their love story. The day was—as you could imagine—so incredible. We started in Grand Marais at Artist’s Point & adventured along Lake Superior before hopping in our cars & heading up the Gunflint Trail alllll the way to Gunflint Lodge. On our drive there we had the freedom to stop whenever we saw something beautiful. We stopped at a random forest for a few photos & even saw a giant moose!!! Of course we kept our distance, but Sydney was so excited because she had just been telling Garrett how much she wanted to see one (let’s be real— we were all excited!). We made it to Gunflint Lodge & explored their property. There were lakes & forests & lookout points & wildflowers & canoes & pine trees.

We hiked out to Lonely Lake where Sydney & Garrett vowed their lives to one another (lonely lake no more!!). 😉 I even got to sign their marriage license as a witness!!! #PhotographerPerks ! It was such an honor! Ugh I just loved this day toooo much. Sydney & Garrett, thank you for inviting me into your intimate day to photograph your love. It was such a joy!!

xoxo
