Minnesota Lakes Summer Engagement Session | Miki & Tyler

FILED IN: couples

This Minnesota summer engagement session with Miki & Tyler was an adventure to say the least! We started off by exploring Miki’s family’s property— where their wedding will be held next summer. It is full of forest, prairie grass and wildflowers— such a dream! 🙂 Next up— a difficult paddle (thanks MN winds…) in a boat with a story. The boat was built using only hand tools by Miki’s great grandfather after he immigrated from Norway to Minnesota and realized the need for it during spring flooding. I just love when couples incorporate items with meaning & stories. It makes their images that much more special.

We finished the shoot off by pontoon-ing through some vicious winds & splashing water over to a dam on the lake. Even though it was not warm out at this point and the winds were a blowing— Miki & Tyler were total champs & actually got in the water! After the shoot, we all warmed up at the cabin with homemade potato soup & warm pie. Any shoot that involves soup & pie is a win in my book. 😉

Cannot wait for their August 2021 wedding!

xoxo
