What says Minnesota summer like a backyard family pool party?! This family session was honestly *soooo* much fun for me to photograph. It was one of those shoots where we just let the kids play & be without much expectation of “performing” for the camera (although I will say that these little ladies were so fun to photograph & certainly put their own spin on “performing for the camera”!). 😉 We jumped on floaties, splashed around, took little breaks, had snacks, jumped back in the pool, had dance parties, ate watermelon, warmed up with cozy towels and jumped back in. It was not your “typical” family session. It felt organic and chaotic and laid-back all in the same breath. But isn’t that what family life *truly* is? Moments of chaos mixed with sweet, tender ones. Moments with big emotions and moments that are silly & fun. Life just happens with kids around. There is so much to document just by letting them exist and be who they truly are. Children are pure treasures and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of sessions like these. Real. Unfiltered. And so. Much. FUN.
